Circuit Protection Q & A

The Problem / The Solution

THE PROBLEM: Higher Rating Surface-Mount Fuses Have Not Been Available

Designers are packing more and more components onto a board, requiring circuits to carry currents as high as 20A or 30A. Protecting board-level devices from faults at these current levels presents a problem because a secondary side fuse with the required overcurrent rating often is not available.

THE SOLUTION: 456 Series Fuse Offers High-Amp Circuit Protection Compatible with Faster Pick and Place Electronics Assembly Processes

Addressing customer requests for smaller embedded device protection of higher-current applications, Littelfuse has launched a new series of 20A and 30A subminiature surface-mount fuses. They are the industry’s first 125V subminiature surface mount fuses with current ratings above 15A
